Your scalp is made of the skin layers.

Your cranial vault bones are covered by the subcutaneous tissue, hair scalp is like soft tissue.

  • 1. Skin:

The first layer of your scalp is skin.

  • 2. Connective Tissue:

 The second layer of your scalp is Dense connective tissue.

It also knows as a Dense connective tissue or superficial fascia.

Your Dense connective tissue is made of subcutaneous layers like fat, blood vessels, nerves, and lymphatic system.

  • 3. Aponeurosis:

The third layer of your scalp is Aponeurosis.

It is also is known as epicranial aponeurosis or galea aponeurotica.

The aponeurosis is a tough layer of your scalp that keeps the frontalis muscles and occipitalis connected.

A. Trigeminal Nerve(1)

  • Supratrochlear nerve.
  • Supraorbital nerve.
  • Zygomaticotemporal nerve.
  • Auriculotemporal nerve.
  • Cervical Nerves


B. Lesser occipital nerve(2).

  • The greater occipital nerve.
  • The great auricular nerve.
  • The third occipital nerve.


Arterial Supply(3)

Three branches involved:

  • Superficial temporal
  • Posterior auricular
  • Occipital

Scalp veins | veins of the head(4,5)

The scalp veins primarily drain the deoxygenated blood from the epicranial aponeurosis.

The superficial veins of the scalp are starting anteriorly and moving posteriorly.

The cranium is an anatomic region that can be bordered anteriorly by face, and posteriorly by the neck.

Parietal Scalp(7)

a vertex or posterior hairline is an area where the scalp goes horizontal to a vertical plane posteriorly.

There are two muscles one is galea and the second is occipitalis.
